Our first Charles adventure.

So here are the beginning awesome pictures from our weekend adventure. This really cool Korean man named Charles likes to go hiking. So on the weekends he organizes trips and offers them at good prices to foreigners. They are usually really awesome things that one can only do in Korea. His day job is organizing and planning conferences and entertaining clients. So he knows tons and tons about what to eat and where and what to see and where and amazing Korean things. Its his job. So on the weekend for fun he organizes these trips and goes hiking with a bunch of foreigners. It was oodles of fun. We woke up early and traveled to Busan, where he is based. We met up and got on the bus with maybe 30 other people and off we went. We drove about an hour then got on a ferry to cross over to the island where we would be hiking.

A view from the ferry

After we got off the ferry we drove across the island on a ridiculous mountain road. My least favorite kind and then started our hike up to the ridge. Below is a view of the road we drove from on the mountain.

Above is an example of the sign posts we found on the mountain.
The hike was five hours and we crossed at least as many peaks in that time. Eric and I had slept only three hours the previous night in order to get there on time, and the initial ascent almost killed me. So for the remaining 4 hours I was wobbly and rubberband-ish, but it was still so awesome. Some of the party couldn't make it all the way and went down about two hours in. I didn't realize that was an option, but I'm glad I didn't get to choose. It was too amazing to miss!!

That night we went to a minbak to sleep near the dinosaur museum and footprints. It was on the beach and we had a bonfire. This is one of the picture I took from the pier.
