Running around

Today was a very interesting day. After a long day of being totally out of it, and somehow not getting in the way of a bunch of men moving Eric and I out of our apartment yesterday, all I wanted to do today was relax. I woke up and although I knew I had to go to work, and actually do something I was undaunted knowing I would be able to come home and take a nap. I spent the first hour or so at work day dreaming about coming home and eating cake and taking a nap. This is however not what happened. Eric appeared early on to tell me of some kinks in the paperwork needing to get done today. Apparently it was (and always will be) very complicated. So I asked to be let out early and as promptly as I could ran off to try and get things done. We needed to first run to the bank to get some things notarized. Step 2 was driving into Chicago and finding the apostille office before they closed at 3:30. We finally got close, parked, and went wandering around the streets for 10 minutes before we decided to call for directions. We were directed to the right building, ran in, went up the elevator, down the hall and into the office. We got there at 3:01. WHEW! right?

"These aren't notarized correctly" She says immediately. Our faces must have spoken our devastation for us, because she continued with "I can tell you've come from far away" and proceeded to give us directions to a place a couple blocks away where we could get them properly notarized. We hustled there, waited while the lady ate a snack, notarized our diplomas and sent us back on our way. We ran back to the office, and made it in at 3:25, just before closing. A few minutes later we had our apostilles and decided to reward ourselves by getting out of the city. We went to our favorite little Greek diner and ate omelettes and chocolate cake. So at least the day ended all right, and we got everything done.

ps sorry about the incongruent verb tenses and any run-ons, I refuse to stop taking this pain medication, its making me a bit loopy, but its so awesome.
